This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website at https://getutensil.app/ (the "Website") or use our iOS mobile application Utensil (the "App"). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access the Website or use the App.
We rely on services from third-party providers, including Apple, Google, Fastmail, and Amazon Web Services (AWS), to develop, host, maintain, operate, and support the Website and the App. Their respective privacy policies can be found at the links provided herein.
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
Personal Information means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular individual or household.
You means the individual accessing or using the Website or App, or the company or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Website or App, as applicable.
Our Website does not collect any Personal Information from users. We do not use advertisements, site analytics, cookies, trackers, or any other technologies that gather user data.
The Website may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. You acknowledge and agree that we shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with the use of or reliance on any such content, goods, or services available on or through any such third-party websites or services. We strongly advise you to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of any third-party websites or services that you visit.
The Website complies with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). As we do not collect any Personal Information, these compliances are inherently met. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13 years of age.
Although we do not collect data through the Website, we implement reasonable security measures to protect the integrity of the Website.
Since no Personal Information is collected via the Website, there are no data access, deletion, or other rights to exercise in relation to Website usage.
The App does not collect any Personal Information automatically. We only collect information that you voluntarily and manually submit through links or forms in the App, such as for user logins, product feedback, or technical support. This may include your name, email address, or other details you choose to provide. We do not use cookies, trackers, analytics, or advertisements in the App.
We use the voluntarily submitted information solely for the purposes for which it was provided, such as responding to your feedback, providing technical support, or managing user logins. We do not use this information for marketing, advertising, or any other secondary purposes.
We do not share your voluntarily submitted information with third parties except as necessary to provide the services (e.g., with our service providers like Apple, Google, Fastmail, or AWS for hosting and support) or as required by law. We do not sell your Personal Information. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your Personal Information may be transferred. We will provide notice before your Personal Information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy. We may also disclose your Personal Information:
The App may integrate with certain third-party services. When you enable these integrations, limited data is collected as described below. We comply with the respective APIs' terms and policies for each integration.
Todoist
If Todoist services are enabled within the App, the App will collect your Todoist ID and, if different, the primary email address associated with your Todoist account. This user data collected by the Utensil app is for the sole purpose of providing labels with which users can differentiate between multiple accounts they may have enabled within the app. No other Todoist user data is read, collected or processed via the Todoist API or by any other means. We use Todoist API in compliance with Todoist’s API requirements. Specifically, while the app may write data (such as exported recipes or other user-directed content) to your Todoist account when you manually direct the app to do so (e.g., via an export or save feature), this write access is requested only in context with your explicit action and consent through Todoist's OAuth process. We do not read any data from your Todoist account, and we limit our use of the Todoist API to the minimum permissions necessary for these user-initiated features. We do not access, use, store, or share any Todoist user data beyond what is explicitly described in this policy, and we do not use such data for any secondary purposes, advertising, surveillance, or other prohibited activities under Todoist's policies. The aforementioned Todoist user data is retained in the Utensil app for as long as the user remains logged in to Todoist services and is removed upon logout. RCPE.io will not sell or share Todoist users' data with any third party without the user’s consent.
Google
If Google services are enabled within the App, the app will collect your Google ID and, if different, the primary email address associated with your Google account. This user data collected by the Utensil app is for the sole purpose of providing labels with which users can differentiate between multiple accounts they may have enabled within the app. No other Google user data is read, collected or processed via the Google API or by any other means. We use Google APIs in compliance with the Google API Services User Data Policy and the Google APIs Terms of Service. Specifically, while the app may write data (such as exported recipes or other user-directed content) to your Google account when you manually direct the app to do so (e.g., via an export or save feature), this write access is requested only in context with your explicit action and consent through Google's OAuth process. We do not read any data from your Google account, and we limit our use of Google APIs to the minimum permissions necessary for these user-initiated features. We do not access, use, store, or share any Google user data beyond what is explicitly described in this policy, and we do not use such data for any secondary purposes, advertising, surveillance, or other prohibited activities under Google's policies. The aforementioned Google user data is retained in the Utensil app for as long as the user remains logged in to Google services and is removed upon logout. RCPE.io will not sell or share Google users' data with any third party without the user’s consent.
We retain your voluntarily submitted Personal Information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. For integration-specific data (e.g., Todoist or Google IDs), retention is as described in the respective sections above.
